Iguazu Falls

Iguazu Falls National Park, in Spanish Parque Nacional Iguazu, is located near Puerto Iguazú, Province of Misiones, in Argentina. It has an extension of 67,720 hectares (167.34 acres) within the Paranaense Forest ecoregion, and it’s one of the most incredible places you can visit in South America.

The Iguazú River, which means “big water” in Guaraní language, flows into the Paraná River. It is 1,500 meters wide (0.9 miles), and runs through islands and islets to finally fall from a lava cliff formed 120 million of years ago.

Gregorio Lezama was the first owner of this land and, considering them of barely no value, sold them at a public auction using a sign that read “rainforest area surrounded by many waterfalls”.

The following owner, Domingo Ayarragaray, developed it a bit further by building a hotel and roads so that visitors could see the waterfalls, and he also exploited local wood resources until President Hipólito Yrigoyen’s Government acquired the land.

After becoming a national heritage, on October 09, 1934, Iguazu Falls was declared a National Park by UNESCO

Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, city and capital of Argentina The city is coextensive with the Federal District (Distrito Federal) and is situated on the shore of the Rio De La Plata 150 miles (240 km) from the Atlanntic Ocean  Buenos Aires is one of Latina America's most important ports and most populous cities, as well as the national centre of commerce, industry, politics, culture, and technology. According to tradition, Spanish colonizer Pedro de Mendoza established the first settlement there, which he named Nuestra Señora Santa María del Buen Aire (“Our Lady St Mary of the Good Air”). Buenos Aires locals are referred to as portenos (“people of the port”) because so many of the city’s inhabitants historically arrived by boat from Europe.

Rio De Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro is well known for the beauty of its beaches and of its peaks, ridges, and hills—all partly covered by tropical forests. The city is a centre of leisure for Brazilian and foreign tourists, and people wearing bathing suits can be seen walking in the streets and along the beaches or traveling on the city’s buses. Perhaps at no time is the city’s festive reputation better displayed than during the annual pre-Lenten Carnival, which enlivens the city night and day with music, singing, parties, balls, and street parades of brilliantly costumed dancers performing to samba rhythms. Rio is also an important economic centre, however, with activities ranging from industry and national and international trade to administration, banking, education, culture, and research.
